Brett Wean is a writer, actor, and improviser who has been a member of several People’s Improv Theater house teams (most recently of which was the long-running group The Baldwins), and was one of the PIT’s first Drop-In improv class instructors. He currently performs regularly in the rotating cast of the PIT’s acclaimed People Improvising show, as well as alongside fellow PIT teacher Pat Shay in their 2-prov duo Wean/Shay, and as a Scene Player in the Lottery portion of Act One. He created and co-hosted the PIT’s culinary-themed variety show Foodstuff with Brett & Ben, with Ben Masten.
Brett’s feature film debut was in Breakup at a Wedding, produced by Zachary Quinto. He has done commercial work for New York Lottery, VH-1, Mars, Weight Watchers, and others. He co-hosted a special episode of MTV.com’s music video show Weird Vibes.
Brett has written for TimeOut New York, and currently writes the regular monthly column Improvising Screenplays for Script Magazine (www.scriptmag.com.) His own feature screenplays have placed highly in international screenwriting contests. He greatly enjoys teaching and coaching improv, as well as helping people craft their own performed and written work.
